Hey! I'm Sara M, But you can call me Ghost-sara, i think in english it dosent make all sence but anyways, here we are so let's continue.
The first thing i want to say it's: what is social media? I mean its obvious, at leats to someone who dosen't live under a rock but social media are tecnicly everything in this days, not i'm joking it's a way to communication, that sound kind of carzy but you can share, create, even talk with pepole that aren't near to you. Social media give us a lot of oportunitiues to share ideas or conect with anyone else.
The top 5 social media are YouTube, Whatsapp, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook; With good reason there are extremely entertaining, and if you'r wondering What info do I need to join social media? Ok, so when it comes to joining any social media platform, the first thing you need is basic info like your name, email, or phone number. They’ll probably ask for a username too, which can be the hardest part especially if you’re trying to get creative (like Ghost-sara). Sometimes they even want your age. Most platforms won’t let you join if you’re under 13, but let’s be honest, people find ways around that!
Honestly, my favorite has to be Instagram. It’s like a giant gallery where everyone can share moments, art, memes whatever! Compared to Facebook, which is more for staying in touch with family, or TikTok, where the content is nonstop, Instagram feels like the perfect mix of creativity and connection. Plus, there are so many artists and interesting pages that give me inspiration every day.
Of course it starts to affect the mental health, and I think here’s the thing. Social media can be a double-edged sword. On one side, it connects us and lets us see incredible things happening around the world. But on the other, too much of it can make us feel anxious, stressed, or even insecure. For example, it’s easy to compare yourself to others when everyone’s posting their “perfect” lives. It’s like, sometimes you just need to remember it’s all filtered and curated, you know? Real life isn’t always like what we see online and most for the young people
For young people, social media can be both amazing and tricky. It’s a place to discover new trends, learn about different cultures, and make friends across the world. But, it can also be a source of pressure. There’s always this push to be popular, to get more likes or followers, and that can affect self-esteem. Some people handle it better than others, but overall, social media has a huge impact on how young people see themselves.
I'm going to start to put some cuestions that maybe you have
What is cyberbullying?
Cyberbullying is basically bullying that happens online, usually on social media. It’s when people use messages, posts, or comments to hurt, embarrass, or harass someone else. What makes it so tough is that it can happen anytime, and it’s hard to escape. Compared to in-person bullying, which stops once you go home, cyberbullying can follow you 24/7, which can be really damaging.
What are the positives of using social media?
Social media has its perks! It’s a great tool for staying connected with friends and family, especially if they’re far away. It also helps spread awareness about important issues and allows people to express themselves. Plus, for those of us who are creative, it’s an awesome way to share our art, photography, or even writing with the world. In a way, it’s like everyone has a little stage now.
What are the negatives of using social media?
The negatives, though… ugh, where do I start? Social media can be addictive, and it can take up way too much time if we’re not careful. There’s also a lot of fake news and misinformation. And then there’s the comparison traps like I said before, it’s easy to start feeling down if you’re constantly comparing yourself to others. Plus, trolls and cyberbullying are always lurking around.
Where can I learn more about cybersecurity?
If you’re interested in cybersecurity, there are plenty of online resources. Websites like CyberWise, the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and even YouTube channels have tons of useful info to help keep you safe online. Schools sometimes offer workshops too, which can be a good place to start.
